It worked for me.. I thought my XP laptop was toast. After a stupid download of a file and running it without scanning first, my laptop rebooted on it's own. Winsocket errors, SVChost error and my desktop had only a background. I could boot in safe mode and I got rid of the malware/viruses with 2 other programs. Research made it look like I was going to have to copy and paste some winsock registry entries and then I found this. Errors were gone, I'm back on line. Thank you.

Terrific. Used it literally dozens of times in the past several years. Also helps undo all the internet 'tweaks' that may have bolluxed up your throughput and LAN connections. It returns you to an almost 'fresh install' type state for your TCP/IP networking. Pros: Does exactly what it's supposed to. Cons: If you don't know what it's for, or how to use it... DONT USE IT!

...Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage....WinSockFix. This file was joke as it did nothing but give me the BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH and did not fix anything. Pros: not good Cons: use at your own risk
